Bearcats!

20 Months, Week 4

Some close friends who have season tickets to UC football games both had the same wedding to attend this past weekend, therefore we ended up with 4 free tickets to our alum!

Aunt Amy was gracious enough to watch Nora [which is even better for Nora to play with her cousins], so then myself, Tim, Chris and our friend Andy to attend the game together. First game of the season at home against Perdue.

It was fun being on campus again - our generations’ tuition has gone to make campus really fantastic. And even more confusing to get around, if that’s possible. I was amazed at how much student housing/apartments are now scattered around - even Short Vine is actually liveable now!

The game was sold out; 36,007 fans. A Nippert Stadium record! That crowd is smooshed in those seats. Did I mention the high that day was 90˚? When you’re sitting shoulder-to-shoulder down in a stadium... it was brutal. In all my years of running, I’ve never been that hot. You just accepted the sweat and thankfully we were able to bring in liters of water. Unfortunately, we saw a lot of older people and dumb drunk kids with the EMS around the concourses.

Thankfully it was worth it, Bearcats thrashed Per-DON’T 42-7!!

After the game, we ate dinner and spent some fun time with the Kieffers!

Born a Bearcat!

Great seats!

White Out!

I apologize for the Miley tongue - it was oppressive!

Trying to block the sun.

  1. Perdue is chicken...Purdue is the university. On the other hand, Purdue may be "chicken" to schedule the Bearcats again after that thrashing they took Saturday!
