19 Months, Week 4
Well, after a feverish response to our sitter’s news about becoming a yoga instructor, we went quickly onto Care.com to find a new caregiver. Neither of us wanted to waste any time and get Nora acclimated to her third caregiver in less than two years. Bah.
I like Care.com a lot - I had at least 25 applicants, however about 5 were probable based on location alone. We had two additional possibilities who were the same price as our second interview, but further away. Everyone is the same price - which is a bummer because our past two sitters have been extremely reasonable. BUT she’s less than 2 miles away with a boy Nora’s age and they just feel comfortable. Plus she’s a Bearcat, man!
We feel very good and have found a few ways to adjust the budget for this, plus our current sitter said she can still act as backup when we need her.
So we’re set for now... I’m already trying to figure out how Pre-School and Kindergarten are supposed to work with 2 working parents! : P

ReplyDeleteWas also thinking since your new sitter lives so close, maybe Nora & her son will be going to the same school & you could arrange for after school care with her. Of course, I don't know if she has an age limit that she cares for.
